Executive Management

 

André Lalumiere (CEO)

André joined Opportunity as CEO of OBUL in April 2012. He brings over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, including an extensive banking and finance career in Africa with various senior management roles in Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. Prior to joining Opportunity International, he served as chief operating officer and later managing director of First Allied Savings and Loans Ltd (FASL), a microcredit and SME financial institution in Ghana. While at FASL, André was responsible for all branch operations, expansion and business development. He previously held executive positions at Securities Discount Company, Century International Limited, Ecobank Cote D'Ivoire and Ecobank Nigeria, the Leasing Company of Zimbabwe and Meridien International Bank. André had made his initial transition into African finance in 1992 as a senior consultant for international development projects at Laliberte, Lanctot, Coopers & Lybrand, after two decades in banking in Canada. André holds a BSc in Commerce from the University of Montreal and an MBA from Concordia University.

 

Alfred Tumwebaze
(COO & ED)

Alfred A. Tumwebaze is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Executive Director (ED) on the Board of Governors; as the deputy CEO Alfred is responsible for ensuring that the Operations of the Company are carried on efficiently and timely while minimizing the risks.

Alfred is a certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) with wide management Experience. He started his carrier in Sales and Marketing becoming the Sales and Marketing Manager of Hima Cement, later he joined an Audit Firm (External Auditor).Chief Internal Auditor UCTU. He joined the company in 2002, as the Head Finance, later became the CFO before becoming the COO in 2009. In 2012, was elected as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Manages the company's general operations function i.e. Bank operations, administration, legal and risk.

 



Raymond Byamah
(Human Resources Manager

Raymond joined Opportunity bank in 2010 as Training and Development officer and was promoted to Human Resource Manager in October 2011. He is Responsible for Human Resource planning, development and management, implementation of HR policies and procedures.

He previously worked in Global Trust Bank as a Human Resources Officer and was one of the pioneer staff of the bank.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts 2nd Upper class degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University and is presently finalizing his research project for a Masters in Organizational Psychology from Makerere University.

 

Dennis Ahimbisibwe
(Ag Head of Internal Audit)

Denis joined Opportunity Bank in 2009 as Audit Supervisor a position he held before being promoted to the position of Ag Head of Audit in October 2011.

Denis is a member of ACCA and ICPA-Uganda and a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree Upper 2nd class degree from Makerere University.

He worked as a Tax Auditor with Uganda Revenue Authority for 4 years before joining the bank. He heads the Internal Audit team of the Bank.

 

Bukenya Paul Michael
(Head of ICT & MIS)

Bukenya Paul Michael joined OUL in February 2010. He has over 11years of progressive ICT experience where he has worked at varying levels of complexity both within the ICT sector and Banking industry. He additionally has leadership experience in managing General Banking Operations. Over the last 12years he has worked as a member, lead and accountable executive for many ICT projects of varying complexity including planning for and doing ICT infrastructure for startup operations.

Paul has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Chemistry majors with various certifications in the ICT field for both technical and governance aspects e.g. CCNP, ISEB Certified ITIL Service manager, MCP, amongst others.

He leads and directs ICT and MIS technical services in OUL.

 

Rogers Kakeeto
(Head of Marketing & Business Development)

Rogers Kakeeto joined Opportunity Uganda in March 2009. He is the Head of Marketing and Business Development. Rogers has over 15 years experience in Sales and Marketing. Previously working with the New Vision as a Senior Sales and Marketing Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce-Marketing and MBA from Makerere University. He is a Chartered Marketer, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing-UK and Uganda Marketers Association. He has since joining OUL launched the savings product in April 2009, created awareness and managed the rebranding process from Faulu to Opportunity Uganda Limited. He has been instrumental in positioning Opportunity Uganda as a major and respected Financial Institution in Uganda. He is a member of the steering committee of the OUL Cultural change project aimed at transforming Opportunity Uganda into a customer oriented organization.

 
Winnie Mbabazi
(Administration Manager)

Winnie Mbabazi joined OUL in June 2009. She holds Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Procurement. In her career path Winnie has built over eight years of working experience in effective execution and delivery of the Administration & procurement functions within astute governance, for and at both the public and private sectors.

She manages general administration of the company and procurement procedures as well as the operational aspects of the day to day procurement and administration sections at OUL.

 
Margret Namazzi
(Head of Transformation)

Margaret Namazzi joined OUL in 2009. She has over 10 years working experience in Microfinance and has, in addition, over five years of experience in spear heading and integrating transformational elements into the lending methodologies of organizations. She is a result oriented and innovative manager with strong leadership, planning, reporting, good problem solving and communication skills. A person of high integrity, and emotionally mature. She is motivated by the love of Jesus Christ for the under privileged people.

Margaret holds a Masters degree in Management Studies (Public Administration and management). She is responsible for translating and integrating the transformation mission into the organization's policies and procedures. Margaret is a member of the steering committee of the OUL Cultural change project aimed at transforming Opportunity Uganda into a customer oriented organization

 
Jomson Mukiza
(Head of Operations)

Jomson is the Head of operations and is in-charge of the various backoffice operations at OUL. He joined Opportunity Uganda in April 2010. With over 19years of Banking carrier experience Jomson has worked at various levels within the industry since 1992. Jomson has valuable experience in building the operations side of the business having risen through the ranks from banking officer to various management offices during this time.

He holds a Bachelors degree in Business administration (Accounting) from Makerere University, a post graduate diploma in Financial Management from Uganda Management Institute and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Management (Finance).
